I'm trying to reconnect my LinkedIn account, but it's asking me to check my authentication app. What should I do?

If LinkedIn is asking you to check your authentication app, it means two-factor authentication (2FA) is enabled on your account. You’ll need to use the authenticator app you originally set up (like Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, or Authy) to complete the sign-in.

If it’s been a while and you’re not sure what to do, here’s how to handle it

Steps to Try

  1. Open your authenticator app on your phone (check apps like Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, Authy, etc.).
  2. Look for the 6 digit LinkedIn code, that’s what you’ll need to enter on the LinkedIn screen.
  3. If you no longer have access to the app or the device, click “I can’t access my authentication app” on LinkedIn’s sign-in screen.
  4. LinkedIn will walk you through account recovery using your phone number, email, or other verification options.

Once you're back in

You can reconnect your LinkedIn account in Breakcold by going to Settings > LinkedIn Integration and following the prompts.
